Okay I admit it, I don't celebrate Halloween. I love the sound of dressing into costumes and going trick-or-treating, but...no one else I knows does it in my part of the world so it would possibly be a waste of time going to the effort LOL!
Instead, I get to celebrate in other ways, with a release hitting cyber space for the new Hot Down Under collection from Pan Macmillan's new digital line, with my story Beneath the Light of a Silver Moon. And though my story is not paranormal (tsk tsk) it DOES mention the moon (hehe) in the title. And, how does that saying go? oh yes - truth is scarier than fiction.. okay okay - I changed it up a bit, but you know what I mean.
In my story, the heroine's husband is the monster, an abusive alcoholic who doesn't see anything wrong with putting a bruise or two on her body.
In my story, the heroine's husband is the monster, an abusive alcoholic who doesn't see anything wrong with putting a bruise or two on her body.
Kristen Treymore isn't living anymore – she's existing.
Trapped in marriage to Jack, an alcoholic who uses his fists to communicate, Kristen has given up her freedom in an attempt to protect his daughter.
When Conrad Doyle, childhood friend and the man whose heart she unwittingly broke, shows up on Kristen's doorstep and offers her a lifeline, she can't refuse.
What she never dreams possible is how much she still wants him—but is that enough to keep them together when terror still beats deep in her heart?
So...how do you choose to celebrate Halloween? My 'treat' is reading a good book and delving into another world, usually paranormal, but hey, any genre will do as long as the words pull me into the story and the writing isn't dull. On that note, I have the first two ebooks of my Alien Hunger series, Galactic Burn and Galactic Inferno, to giveaway to a commentator who answers that question and another to someone who 'follow's my blog. (see below)
Good Luck peoples and have a Happy Halloween MWAHAHAHAH!!!!
Dn't forget to blog hop (people's names below) and help celebrate The Darksiders 2nd year of blogging! Awesome!!!!

I don't Halloween either Mel. I'm hoping I can avoid any chocolate seeking children this arvo!
Good luck with that Keziah! I've never encountered that yet in Aus but things are definitely changing.
"truth is scarier than fiction" ... I like that!
Thanks Jenny, nothing like manipulating a great quote *g*
I tend not to celebrate Halloween. But the few times I have, I enjoyed dressing up in a witches (homemade) costume.
This year I plan to 'treat' myself with a spa and some vegan chocolate, and sit in the dark and watch TV (love the gypsy's wedding dresses).
Thanks for the reminder for a treat:)
Happy 2nd bday for DSDU and Happy Halloween:)
Lilliana that sounds divine! What a great way to treat yourself =))
We never celebrated Halloween either in the UK. My kids never went out trick or treating (they feel very deprived) I did notice a big difference when we moved to Oz. I don't know if it's become more commercial in the UK now. Probably!
Happy Halloween, Mel!
No celebrating for me - but I've got some chocolate in case there are knocks on the door.
Love the idea to treating yourself.
:)
Sounds like Halloween is spreading Christina, first Aust, then the UK...
Oh you're prepared Eleni!
At least if there's no knocks you can keep the chockie for your own little treat =)
Halloween, nope. Chocolates, YES! I may even have one now.
Already a follower, plus already have both Alien Hunger books & loved them.
I just remembered I got chocolate in the cupboard and after doing gym today was feeling guilty about eating it. But Halloween cancels out gym any da...nom nom nom.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't do Halloween :)
But that book looks hot!
I don't do Halloween either, although my USA friends continually tell me I'm deprived. I'm celebrating by checking out FB, blog hopping (cos I this time its registering) and re-reading a WIP that I put on ice last year
I "celebrate" by stocking up with mini choc bars ready for those knocks on the door. (I have yet to be scared by anyone!) I wonder what would happen if I said "I'll take the trick"?
Don't dare try it... !
Hi S E Gilchrist,
What would we all do without chocolates (or at least what would our poor husbands do if we were faced without a bit of cadbury...)
I'll put you in the draw as a follower for a backlist book =)
Hey Miss Green!
Your gym sounds like my gym... *wink*
Join the club Imogene (the non-Halloween club)
And thanks re: my book =)
Natasha D,
I love your way of celebrating doing the blog hop - very cool =))
Tyla another choc lover, we must all keep cadbury in good business. There's a good point. A trick...hmm!
Halloween is not such a big deal here in NZ. This year it seemed to explode a bit and we had a fair few kids dressing up and going out. I actually had a good evening as was at dog training teaching my dog to track lol. Left my other half at home with the candy ;)
Halloween's not huge around where I am unfortunatly. I love the spirit of halloween but I don't really celebrate it because there's no point knocking on doors of people who don't care about it. So for me its just another day. I don't really do anything different.
Pranks ,candy for us and the trick or treaters ,lots of scary movies with my teen daughters and hubby we love Halloween .

Gabbie you sound in the same boat as me. It's def no celebrated here, and would feel ratehr odd wandering the street dressed up.
Oh Wanda you must be in the right area then! Really does seem to be one or the other. Hope you had another great Halloween =)
Hi MaryDe

Hi Lona,
I bet they're are some great costumes out there too =)
Thanks for dropping by.
I didn't do anything for Halloween this year because I was too busy standing in line for early voting; I live in the US. By the time I got home, after working all day, I was too tired. LOL
I look forward in reading your works; they sound great.
I am a follower.
Thanks,
