Desperate Housewives and Procrastination

Desperate Housewives would have to be one of my all time favourite shows. =)
With lines so witty and sharp, the writers are seriously clever! Though I mourn the demise of Edie the tramp, the regular cast have kept this show moving along at its usual hilarious, sparkling pace...

From the day (not too long ago) I started this blog, I realise how much its been helping me to procrastinate instead of getting my words down! (this is writing...isn't it??) But geez, this is almost as much fun!! lol

Night's Cold Kiss

I'm very excited about my good friend's upcoming release Night's Cold Kiss, due this coming September!! (Isn't this cover totally AWESOME!)
Congrats Tracey, can't wait to read this and all the books following in The Dark Brethren series =)
Here's a little taste...
For centuries war raged between the humans and Aeternus vampires—until courageous efforts on both sides forged a fragile peace.
But the rogue Necrodreniacs will never be controlled—addicted as they are to the death-high . . . and bloody chaos.
Since witnessing the murder of her mother, Antoinette Petrescu has burned with fiery hatred for the vampire race—even for Christian Laroque, the noble, dangerously handsome Aeternus who rescued her. Now an elite Venator, Antoinette must reluctantly accept Christian's help to achieve her vengeance—even as he plots to use the beautiful, unsuspecting warrior as bait to draw out the bloodthirsty dreniacs.

Bad Boy Hero's

Reading Becca's blog has got me thinking about my current WIP (a follow-up from Stone-Cold Lover) and my bad boy hero who looks quite a bit like J.D Fortune (ex-lead singer of INXS). J.D here looks very clean cut, but I'm sure he's fooling no one! The same can be said for my hero-in-the-making, who oozes charm and manners but has this underlying...badness. Is he filthy rich - he owns a casino or three - through his connections to the mafia and organized crime...or not?

June: Quote

Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say 'infinitely' when you mean 'very';
otherwise you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite

Cats and Writing

Some months ago I started a novella about a woman who attracts cats wherever she goes. This all ties in with the secret she eventually discovers about herself and the man she's been dreaming about...and searching for (no spoilers here!)
Hence the picture of my cat, Bundy (who is in purfect health at 10 or more years of age).
I do intend finishing that story, and three or four other's that need a little TLC. But writing cats (any animal) into my plot has certainly opened my eyes at how much harder it is to get them *right* on the page!

Stone Cold Lover

I sent my ideas off yesterday for the front cover of my gargoyle novella, Stone Cold Lover... To say I'm excited is an understatement, and I can't wait to see what the art dept come up with! Will post the cover here the moment I can - and also the release date of the book =)

I've finished working on the first chapter of my next book (title yet unknown) and I'm really *really* excited by the hero and heroine. The hero in this one is quite, well - bad! More about this at a later date!

In the meantime I'm also working on a single title novel with my co-author and good friend, Kylie. To say it's different from my usual, paranormal writing, is quite an understatement. With almost 25000 words down, I'm hoping to up the ante and get some words down real quick.
